Proverbs 31:10-31 means a lot different to me now. Diving into the Word deeper, I found that Proverbs 31 shows how “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge” (Proverbs 1:7) and He gives us wisdom and the ability to fulfill our responsibilities. Our characters are shaped by His grace and love. As I read this Scripture, especially with Mother’s Day coming, I think about the women in my life who are mothers and who are motherly.
I think of my mom who is ever so thoughtful and selfless. I also think of Lola Le (my mom’s mom) whose faith and love for God showed me how to reach out to others, and Lola Jill (my dad’s mom) whose love of playing the piano always reminded me of God’s gift of music. Lendl’s mom who is caring and an encouragement to both of us. My future sister-in-laws who are always willing to help and who I know would be great moms. Our titas who love to make sure we are full of food and spiritual sustenance. Our cousins and girl friends who always welcome us to their homes and those who have kids and teach them God’s love so early on.
I thank God and pray for these women in our lives who fear the Lord (Proverbs 31:30), clothed with strength and honour (Proverbs 31:25) and whose words are wise and kind (Proverbs 31:26).
